What We Do

HUGS International TLC is dedicated to building orphanages and schools for displaced children around the world.

HUGS is a nonprofit, charitable foundation that has been providing humanitarian aid to countries devastated by famine, natural disasters, economic hardship or war since 1992. HUGS is filling a specific need in these countries by providing a "bricks and mortar" solution to help people pull themselves out of poverty.

Our schools function as a sanctuary of hope for young people by providing physical shelter, education, life-skills, and job training.

HUGS' mission is to help our students help themselves by giving them the tools to become self-sufficient and overcome the cycle of poverty and dependency. The phrase "If you build it, they will come" was never more appropriate than with a HUGS TLC school. They provide a haven of safety and opportunity through which children heretofore displaced, orphaned and homeless receive the opportunity to better themselves and their country.

The stability and nurturing environment that exists in this gospel-based setting prepares our students to meet the challenges they will face as adults and as future leaders in a moral and responsible manner.

HUGS also provide much needed physical facilities through which other organizations may distribute humanitarian aid.

HUGS coordinates relief efforts with other humanitarian organizations to bring much needed training, leadership, relief supplies and jobs into these needy areas. While other charitable institutions and businesses are willing and able to provide foodstuffs, medical care, well digging, agrarian training, job training, and volunteers, HUGS fills the need of these relief groups by providing a physical location to center their relief efforts.
