HUGS International TLC GHANA PROJECT - 2003

Background:

• Founded as a result of the challenges faced by the deprived and needy children, especially orphans
• An 18 acre plot of land was purchased in Trom, 20 miles from Accra (Ghana’s capital)

Physical Plan:

• Establish an orphanage and school for children (infants - 16 yrs.), a literacy center for adults, a library and a computer center
• Create a health/medical center
• Form recreational facilities
• Provide a four acre farm and a fresh water bore well
• Build a working machine shop (self-sufficiency education program)

Vision:

• Create a center of excellence within a challenging environment
• Give children a sense of purpose and an opportunity to develop their potential
• Homes for 100 children will be built on site
• Children will be reared in a family environment and loved by women who are their adoptive moms. (Women will be carefully screened and hand-picked)
